Soooo for those of you who know me well (or those of you that pay attention to Facebook) my 22nd birthday was this past week. So the following as a breakdown of said week:
Monday: I had another tutoring session with a student that I've taken on who goes to the JC in the area I live. Anyway, as a little present/b-day week kick-off I went to Red Robin before the session, equipped with my free birthday burger coupon. Even though my birthday wasn't until Friday, it is Lent which means that meat on Fridays is a no-no, so I fit it in on monday. Can I just say Whiskey River Burger=YUM. My waitress was amazing and at the end of my meal, she brought me a sundae (again YUM) and even gave me some balloons to help my early birthday celebration. I must admit that my inner 12/13/14 year old was absolutely giddy when I left.
Tuesday: My first day of errands, Vegetable lasagna and groceries needed for pasta salad were gathered in preparation for the upcoming party.
Wednesday: Sadly nothing particularly birthday-centric occurred.
Thursday: See Wednesday.
Friday:I picked up my bestie Ness from the Greyhound station and went to the mall for lunch and a quick window shopping session with said bestie and one of my cousins. Then the major birthday errands were dealt with. We went to the store to pick up a few miscellaneous things...garlic bread to go with the lasagna, a few liters of soda, a Swiffer sweeper that I ended up returning the next day because I didn't know that there was already one in the house and finally somethings for dinner that night (which turned out to be fettucini alfredo and garlic bread)...Once those things were gathered, the real shopping began, in other words we made a beeline for the alcohol. We didn't get much, just some things for pina coladas and a case of Smirnoff Ice. All-in-all it was a very successful shopping trip.
Later on that night, I enjoyed my birthday drink with Ness and the cousin.
Also, I was watching the short track 500M speed skating finals, and all i have to say is that Apollo Ohno was robbed. Yeah his hand was on the other guys hip but there was no pushing involved. And also, where was the review of the Canadian skater? His actions were so clearly a push that if Ohno was dq'ed then that guy should have been as well.
Saturday (Party Day!!): Yay! In the morning my Dad and little brothers made their appearances. We spent the morning picking up copies of Lego Rockband and The Beatles: Rockband to provide the fun for the party (which it did much to everyone's amusement).
The party was amazing and there was even a mini elementary school reunion that took place:
Here is proof that Rockband was a hit:
We ended the night with a few intense rounds of Mafia...which were amusing to say the least. Notice the looks of intense concentration on the players faces and the smiles on those who had already been off'ed. Friendships can be made or broken because of that game.
Oh and for those who are interested, I give you...
The Final Drink Count:
5 shots of Bicardi Dragonberry (YUM!!!!!!!!!)
2 Pina Coladas (a certain someone added enough rum to the second that it may as well have been all alcohol)
2 Seagrams Sweet Tea Vodka & Apple Juice
2 Cans of Coors Light (Kings Cup, I lost, 'nough said...btw beer w/ ice was surprisingly tasty)
I don't know if you think that's a lot or not, but I stand firm by the statement that I was not "schwasted" but rather incredibly buzzed. But I do admit that when I woke up the next morning there were a few "I can't believe I said thats" that ran through my mind.
Overall I'm thinking that this was a pretty epic birthday.

February 16, 2010
Just something to pass the time...
So every year in San Diego, February is designated Museum Month. This means that with a voucher/booklet/pass thing that you pick up at Macy's you can get half off the price of admission to pretty much every museum in SD. Now, February's just about halfway over and because of the dreaded 'm' word (midterms) I haven't really been able to take advantage of this. However, I gave myself Friday off and decided that I would drag my cousin Kay-kay (who actually had the day off) to Balboa Park. We originally we just going to go to the SD Natural History Museum, but we decided to tack on the greenhouse garden thing because it was still early and it was free. And of course, I went with camera in hand so I could capture all the fun and whatnot that went on.
Part One: San Diego Natural History Museum
There are few things more fun than looking at dinosaur bones and running around the displays like a 13y.o.
Part Two: The Botanical Building
I cannot express how amazing it smelled in there, and the orchids (as you can see below) were huge and in full bloom.
Oh and one more thing.....HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY Paulina!!!!!
.....also, please note that I meant to have this post up Sunday (so the above greeting would have been on time) but I couldn't find the USB cable for my camera until this morning.
